01 On Deck

The about opener moved onto the blue Band family: brand hero gradient, translucent wheel chip, the chip line serving as the eyebrow, white display type, and the faint compass watermark off the right edge. Deep-blue wave seam into the Story band; on the real page this blue top would meet the blue site header directly (not simulated here).

02 Ship's Nameplate

Split hero on the live paper chart grid: the copy holds the left while a deep-navy ship's nameplate — the compass-and-wordmark lockup on its own plate over a waterline keel — anchors the right. Orange underlines the title's closing phrase; the live blue crest into Story stays.

03 Squared Away

The quiet typographic take: a ruled meta line carries the chip copy, regular-weight Playfair at display scale, and the sub's two sentences stacked as lead plus ruled note. One short orange rule is the only warm mark. No wave — the hero meets the deep Story band as a flat horizon; top surface is white (live is paper).

04 Ship's Crest

Ceremonial center: the captain's wheel as a small full-strength crest above centered display type — the instrument presented as an emblem instead of receding at the edge. Chart-grid paper and the live deep-blue crest into Story.

05 The Wheelhouse

The section becomes the instrument: a colossal captain's wheel bleeds past both edges and the crew's introduction sets inside its hub — italic display Playfair, an orange axle pin, the sub held to the hub's measure. Wildcard — bends layout/motif conventions; brand palette and Playfair/Rubik only.
