01 Blue Water

The classic nautical-site opening: the brand hero gradient with white display type, a translucent chip, and the compass watermark centered behind — the orange CTA the one warm mark. Deep-blue wave seam into the intro band; on the real page this blue top edge would meet the blue site header directly (not simulated here).

02 At the Helm

Split composition: the copy holds the left of a clean white field while an oversized captain's wheel rides — and is cropped by — the right edge at near-full strength. Orange underlines the title's closing phrase; the seam keeps the live blue crest into the intro band.

03 Plain Sailing

The quiet typographic take: a ruled meta line (chip left, coordinates right), regular-weight Playfair at display scale, generous air, and orange spent only on the CTA. No wave — the hero meets the deep intro band as a hard, flat horizon. Top surface is white (live is paper) under the blue site header.

04 The Horizon

A horizon hero: the light chart sky carries the words, a low deep-blue horizon strip carries the CTAs and coordinates. The wave crests mid-hero at the horizon, and the strip runs flush into the deep intro band below — no seam at the section edge.

05 Dead Reckoning

The headline plotted as a fix on the chart: the sub's two sentences ride a dashed course line as departure and destination log entries, the line runs to an orange ring at the CTA, and the coordinates blow up and rotate along the right edge — the whole composition drifting off-grid. Wildcard — bends layout/motif conventions; brand palette and Playfair/Rubik only.
